
Hunting Lease
48 acres in Autauga County, AL
​This tract is available and up for bid as an partial lease which will run to June 30, 2026. When it is renewed the annual lease will run from August 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

Hunting Lease Liability Insurance must be purchased by the lessee (hunt club) through the Alabama Forest Owners' Association. The lessee will not be granted access to the property until the certificate of insurance is received by the landowner, per the lease agreement.

Once a bid has been offered and accepted, the landowner will email the lease agreement to the potential lessee. The lessee has 5 days to return the signed lease with payment. If the lease agreement and payment is not received by the landowner on the 5th day after signing the lease agreement, the landowner will move forward with the next bid.

The landowner is most interested in an individual/family/small club willing to take good care of the property. The better care the lessee takes of the property, the more willing the landowner will be to renew the lease each year.

Description
This hunting lease is for 48 acres in Autauga County, AL near Marbury. The tract has mainly easy rolling terrain with a mix of young hardwood and mature longleaf pine. A small year-round creek runs through the property. The tract was thinned around 10 years ago. The tract has a road system with a couple possible greenfield locations that could be easily established.
The entrance (gray marker in image below) will allow a truck and trailer to enter the property easily even in wet conditions. There is a parking & turn-around area (blue marker) about 50 yards into the property from the entrance.

Image below shows the end of Go Kart Road. (gray marker on aerial map above) This is where the easement to the property starts. It runs along the fence line of Interstate I-65.

After proceeding through the easement by following the fenceline of the interstate for about 75 yards, you'll come to the entrance of the property. (Image below)

The east and south boundary lines and corners are well marked with blue paint. Interstate 65 is the west boundary. The north boundary line will be marked soon, but is unpainted currently.

Here is a topo map and below that a map showing the roads to the property from Highway 31. The property is approximately 11.5 miles (about 15 minutes) from Exit 205 of I-65. Conveniently situated between Birmingham and Montgomery, the tract is roughly an hour from the Birmingham area and only about 30 minutes from Montgomery.

The lease agreement is the formal document stating the terms the Lessor and Lessee agree upon, but here are some of the more common items the landowner would like to make known up front even before the lease agreement is sent.

Follow applicable laws and regulations.

The Lessee is encouraged to post the property with Alabama Forest Owner' Association Posted Signs in accordance with laws and regulations.

Gates may be installed (with prior written approval by the Lessor) and locked provided key and/or lock combination is provided in advance to the landowner (Lessor). Any such gate must accommodate additional locks so the landowner, easement holders, and others with legal access may also access the property.

No game food plots may be established without prior written consent of the landowner (Lessor).

No baited hunting.

No old trails or roads may be reopened and no new trails or roads may be created without prior written consent of the landowner.

Clean up. All trash in must be removed from property.

No subleasing or guiding allowed on the property.

Land management activities take precedence over hunting activities.

The landowner does not guarantee condition of the property.
